The Hospital Management Congress will take place in Austria from 4 to 6 May 2026. LÖSUNG|N will be there.

An overview of the Austrian framework conditions for 2026
As part of the 2023–2028 fiscal equalisation scheme, the federal government and the federal states will provide more than two billion euros in additional funding annually for health and care from 2026 onwards. In return, they expect concrete structural adjustments in the hospital sector. The Health Reform Partnership identifies, among other things, the following key areas for action, which are to be implemented in 2026.
- Reorganisation of emergency care (capacity, regional cooperation)
- Accelerated digitalisation, including the use of AI
- Combating a two-tier healthcare system (tension between public and private sectors)
- Redefinition of professional roles (care, expanded responsibilities, new job profiles)
“Digital before outpatient before inpatient” – this is how the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection in Vienna (BMASGPK) summarises the direction of Austria’s structural reform in the hospital sector.
