Cut-over Management

Cut-over management for maximum reliability during go-live

Many transition projects fail not because of the technology, but because the changeover was not planned in enough detail. The go-live phase is the riskiest part of any transition. It needs its own plan and its own rehearsal. There is often no realistic rollback. For that reason, we only go live with a complete, tested cut-over plan.

What is cut-over management?

Cut-over management is the central control of the switch from current mode of operation (CMO) to future mode of operation (FMO). This can be a provider change, a data center migration or the introduction/replacement of applications. The cut-over plan is the playbook for this phase.

A central cut-over plan

  • shows how all timelines and activities fit together,
  • defines responsibilities,
  • documents frozen zones and milestones, and
  • gives every stakeholder one source of truth during the transition.

Your benefits

Central cut-over management aligns all subplans across teams. Dependencies, inconsistencies, and conflicts are identified early and resolved. This reduces the impact on ongoing business, avoids errors, and makes risks visible and manageable. Reporting from the plan creates transparency for management.

We always perform a full rehearsal. Only after a successful rehearsal and validation do we go live. That is how we secure maximum reliability and control.
